The Constitution is shown firing on the Guerrière, her fore and mizzen masts adorned with American flags. The Guerrière has already lost her fore and mizzen masts, and her main mast is depicted in mid-tumble; the mast is already broken, and the upper fragment is about to fall into the sea to join the already mostly submerged foremast.
