Uncolored etching depicting an Arctic scene with two vessels in passages between ice-patches and icebergs, and a large solid ice cover over the sea in the background. There is a rocky landmass in the foreground at left, with three figures visible in front of the viewer, looking out at the ships. Printed below image, "Drawn & Engraved by W. Westall A.R.A from a Sketch made on the spot by Lieut. Hoppner." Below is printed the title and the publication information.
