Print reproduction of a painting by Seppings-Wright, depicting an English and a Dutch man of war. One vessel, the British, is seen in three-quarters stern view at left; the other in three-quarters bow view at right; the sails of the latter are tattered. Other vessels are indistinctly visible in the background. The time period of these vessels is ca. 1680. Artist signature at bottom right of painting. Title in lower margin. From William Clark Russell's "The ship: her story", 1899. Originally page 62 of that volume; the form of the British ship is discussed on pp. 61-63.
