A bifolio illustration from The Illustrated London News, a weekly news magazine, of the HMS 'Driver' reconnoitering the fortification of Cronstadt during the Crimean War. The yachts 'Gondola' and 'Esmeralda' were said to join the reconnoitering fleets to watch any action that might take place. According to the text, the artist was on board the HMS 'Driver' when he sketched the illustration. On the verso is the text of the periodical.
