Hand-colored cartoon depicting a ship (labeled "Broad-bottom'd Packet") tossing a barrel (labeled "Real Constitutional Spirits, No Maidstone) to a large horned whale in order to distract it. The ship tilts dangerously on the choppy seas. Production information at top left; in lower margin are printed the title, artist information, and the caption "Representing an Empty-Barrel tossed out to amuse the great LEVIATHAN-JOHN BULL, in order to divert him from instantly laying violent hands upon ye new Coalition Packet --Vide Swift's Preface, to the Tale of a Tub."
