hand-colored copperplate engraved map of Thessaly, Ancient Greece from the publication Grand atlas contenant vue parfaicte description du monde maritime... by Jan Jansson (Amsterdam, Apud Ioannem Janssonium, 1650 ?). Putti, horses, and men flank the sides of the cartouches that contain the title, author, and distance scale. Five vessels and one whale or sea monster decorate the Agean Sea.
