A hand-colored map of classical Europe and North Africa. The title cartouche on the top right corner is decorated with figures in boats. Sea monsters and ships decorate the waters. Relief is shown pictorially and features waterways. There is an additional cartouche on the upper right corner. This map appears in Guillaume Sanson's L'Europe en plusieurs cartes... published around 1648. The extensive annotations (circling and underlining city/ocean names, marking "x's") suggest that the map was studied or used.
