Hand-colored intaglio map depicting the "Departure of the Children of Israel for Egypt, their passage through the Red Sea, their forty years in the desert and their entry into the country/land of Canaan." Lower left of center N. Berchem Invent. and lower right of center A. Blotelingh, fecit. The scene on the bottom left is of Moses striking the rock for water (Numbers 20:11); the center depicts Moses recieving the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai (Exodus 30); and the scene on the right is of Moses taking the staff from the Lord's presence (Numbers 20:9). The ships that decorate the Seas are of a much later time period. On the top center, there is a scene of Jonah and the whale. Angels flank the cartouche on the top right. Text on verso, but covered when mounted.
