A copperplate engraved folio from the 1608/1612 Italian edition (300 print run) of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, by Abraham Ortelius. The map depicts the region of Wales with its topography depicted pictorially. A ship, a sea monster, a pair of calipers, and an elaborate cartouche containing the title and map's author decorate the map. On the verso begins the text of the chapter on Cambria (folio number 13). The last line, in cursive script, in two columns: "Gia terra producitrice de boschi,hor bisognosa di selua, Si che dal volgo madre de Cambri con ragione sia chiamata".
