Brightly hand-colored map of Genoa, Italy. Taken from the French edition of "Theatrum orbis terrarum, sive, Atlas novus" by Willem Blaeu. The title of the map is in a cartouche with the Genoa coat of arms. A smaller cartouche with the scale is in the lower right hand corner. Ships, a whale, Posiden, and a rose compass populate the Ligurian Sea. French text on verso.
