Page from a book with an engraving in the top left corner. Page has not been cut down and probably was never bound. The engraving is marked on top, "Pag. 162" and has two frames, both of which are stylized to look as if the subject is drawn on a piece of paper nailed to a board. On the upper image is a walrus and a spotted seal. The walrus is labeled, "WALRUS, lang 9 Rhynlandsche voete." (Walrus, 9 Rhinelandish feet long) and the seal is labeled "ZEE ROB, lang 6 1/2 Rhynlandsche voet" (Sea seal, 6.5 Rhinelandish feet long). The lower image features a side view of a spouting whale with a scale of 42 feet, and the label "Rhynlandsche Maat van 42 voet" (42 Rhinelandish feet in size). Above the whale is a small inset showing large tooth like objects: front, back, and side views, and a scale of "een voet Amsterdamsche Maat" (One Amsterdam foot). The inset is labeled, "Potvisch tanden" (Cachalot [Physeter macrocephalus] bite). Under the whole image is the text, "Cachelot of Potvisch, pag. 284 beschreeven." (English: Cachalot or Cachalot(Dutch name), written about on p. 284).
