Street Vendor

Major collection: Holography
Named collection: Holography Collection
Object type: hologram
Maker: Molteni, William J.
Date made: 1980
Materials: holographic stereogram; glass
Measurements: 8 in x 10 in
Nomenclature: fine art
Classification: holograms

Impressionistic city scene showing office buildings, moving cars and a man standing next to a street vendor (small food cart with umbrella); as the viewer moves horizontally, the cars appear to move, and the street vendor appears and disappears close to the foreground, as if the viewer was watching the scene out of the window of a moving car; unfortunately, the street vendor is out of focus and is very difficult to view clearly as compared to the rest of the image; creator's signature and date etched at bottom.

Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
