Major collection: Holography
Named collection: Holography Collection
Object type: hologram
Maker: Reuterswärd, Carl Fredrik
Date made: 1978
Materials: laser transmission; glass
Measurements: 20 1/2 in x 24 in
Nomenclature: fine art
Classification: holograms

According to notes in MOH accession file for this object number, `Hologram is of model of birthday cake with lit candles; smoke from candles produces long dark areas (like black smoke in the image)'; however, the only discernible image using standard laser light is a black plane that floats in the middle of the glass, the position of which changes as the viewer moves; within this plane is an oblong red shape. Cake in wooden crate.

Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
