Greenish-red image of a sundial in which the shadows are cast by 2 ornamental dolphins that are part of the structure; dolphins break the image plane, though they are slightly out of focus; in background behind the sundial are one or two circles of light, depending on the angle of light; the work `was to show 24-hour shadow movement but [turned out to be] too complicated to do on one plate' (according to MOH notes); creator's signature, date, and `1/3' appear at bottom of plate.
