Holographic stereogram showing a flickering candle flame, yellow or blue in color (depending on angle of light); as one moves one's head horizontally, the flame appears to dance and flicker; the hologram is set into a structure / sculpture made of 2 thick worn pieces of wood, with one standing upright at the back of the other block that forms the base, forming a 90° angle; the upright piece has a large square chuck of wood removed; behind this opening is the hologram, adhered to a piece of plexiglas that is adhered to the wood; at the front of the base block is a hole into which fits a small burned-down candle; when the structure is situated with the proper lighting, the flame in the hologram appears to flicker above the actual candle; a piece of torn paper is positioned behind the film plane as a kind of irregular horizon.
Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
