Moire Screen

Major collection: Holography
Named collection: Holography Collection
Object type: hologram
Maker: Kaufman, John
Date made: 1981
Materials: reflection hologram; glass
Measurements: 8 in x 10 in
Nomenclature: fine art
Classification: holograms

Two corner sections of fine screen, one on each side of work, each about 6" square, seen against an orangish back-lit area; negative space is a rough, jagged `S' shape; both squares of screen make moire patterns; left square seems to project one inch out toward image plane, right square goes back one inch (description taken from notes in MOH accession file for this object number).

Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
