Major collection: Holography
Named collection: Holography Collection
Object type: hologram
Maker: Johansen, Frithioff
Date made: 1987
Materials: white light transmission hologram; glass
Measurements: 14 1/2 in x 11 in
Nomenclature: fine art
Classification: holograms

An image of a rock is centered within the hologram; above the rock, 3 beams shoot down and out towards the viewer, breaking the image plane; the beams pass through the rock and converge into one point just below the rock; excellent 3-D effect, prompting viewers to reach out to try to touch the beams; rock and beams are rainbow-colored.

Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
