The triptych consist of three 8" x 10" plates with different variations of the same optical set-up.

Spoken by the artist: "During 1978, I re-examined the image and color multiplication technique that I had developed at Brown University in 1976. This time I began with one cube and two spheres, which were recorded in three separate master holograms. With the help of a Holographic Optical Element (HOE) that I designed especially for this task, I made many cubes and spheres from the original masters in multiple colors. It was the first time that I used several HOE's in the image making process of a finished work." Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
