Hologram made using interferometry - a holographic technique that makes visible what is normally invisible in that it compares, in time, the object in its normal state and the object after it has undergone some minute change such as heat, pressure, vibration, etc. The hologram made as part of series of investigations into real time interferometry during an Artist in Residence Award at the Museum of Holography in New York, hence the title "Time Squared." Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Large, hollow, gray metal cube, the bottom of which is screwed to a black metal frame, to allow for mounting on a wall; square area is cut out of top of cube, to expose a glass plate hologram which is adhered on the underside of the top of cube; hologram shows a 3 X 3 checkerboard pattern; in each square is a bulls'-eye-like series of concentric circles; as viewer moves, the circles within circles appear to rotate and move; a small cube is visible in some of the 9 square spaces; greenish-blue image.
