Rainbow-colored image of the detached head of a statue of Aphrodite, in slight profile; good horizontal parallax, as full face becomes visible when one views the plate from the right; holographic glass plate is adhered to a slightly larger glass plate; at top is a one-inch border formed by larger plate, which contains a hole at either corner to allow for hanging; engraved into upper right corner of the border is the title and year and `Benton Benton Mingace & Walter.'

In the words of Steve Benton: "The best ever achromatic image." A hologram of the centerpiece of the MFA's classic collection, which is indeed called the Bartlett Head. It is presumed to be a head of Aphrodite, but not certainly so. Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
