Device of the Aldine press, cut from a book. Detailed engraving, depicting the dolphin winding about a hanging anchor, framed by a wreath of foliage and with the word "ALDVS" printed within. Shadows rendered by means of precise hatching. Below is printed "VENETIIS, MDLVIII." (Venice, 1558).
