A port view of the British schooner, 'Ellen Gillman.' As she sails over a wave off a Foreland, she leans on her port side. She carries the British Red Ensign along with her identifying flags. Many of her sails flap limply in the wind. In the right background is a coast with a white lighthouse. Three sailing vessels are in the distance on the left side of the print. According to the inscribed text in the bottom, center margin, she was commanded by Captain Thomas Steer.
