A tinted lithograph of the 'Empress,' owned by the English-French-Belgian Company, shown passing perpendicular to two warships, which appear to be saluting the Empress's passengers (Napoleon III and Eugenie). The vessel carries the French flag in front and back. On the fore-mast in the personal standard of Napoleon III, and on the mizzen-mast is the "red ensign."
