Monochrome newspaper clipping with advertisement for spermaceti oil. Header is a woodcut of a whale with the words "SPERMACETI OIL" emblazoned over it. Text of advertisement reads: "Also, Refined Oil for Factories. For sale wholesale and retail, at the old Stand No. 73, Broad-street, sign [faded away] the Whale, those who want for factories or families can be supplied at short notice. N.B. Those who want for factories will find it [so? to?] their interest to call as above. (3m) june 24" [N.B. "june" is uncapitalized in the text). Another piece of paper has been pasted below: "1815". Verso shows parts of advertisements for William Doud's shop selling "large iron Kettles", as well as the "best green Coffee; Nails; Ship Chandlery [...and] 1 sixteen feet Yawl Boston built", as well as "New-Orleans Sugars" recently arrived on the brig Louisiana.
