Photograph of a drawing of the sloop "Union", in side view, at Nootka Sound on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The island is visible in the left-hand background. There are four boats on the water surrounding the "Union". She flies two American flags, with 13 or 14 stars; the monochromaticity of the photograph and the general crude execution of the drawing makes it difficult to distinguish what is a star and what is an accidental gradation in the paint. Title is drawn atop and below the image; in places, the ink of the lettering has run.
