A 19th-century, sepia half-tone of a sketch of the HM Yacht 'Mary.' The gaff-rigged, cooper-clad yacht was a gift from the City of Amsterdam to King Charles II in honor of the restoration of the monarchy in 1660. The yacht was built by the Dutch East India Company and purchased by the City of Amsterdam to be gifted to the king. The mast is without any sails and men wearing Dutch, wide-brimmed top hats are on board. The collector, Arthur H. Clark, used this print from his collection to illustrate his book 'The History of Yachting, 1600-1815' (New York & London: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1904), 60.
