Part No 601100 Mockup of the Apollo Lunar Excursion Module Optics, MIT Instrumentation Laboratory, 1962-1969. Philip Bowditch and Alex Koso led the design of the optical system. The astronauts had to be able to locate key reference stars in order to help the guidance computer maintain the spacecraft's proper course. This is a mockup of the alignment optical telescope used in the LEM.
