First page of Mme Dacier's Dedicatory Epistle from a volume of Callimachus edited by that writer, featuring a decorative engraving with an image of a whale. The text reads, "Viro Illustri Petro Danieli Huetio S.P.D. Anna Tanaquilli Fabri Filia. Ovem nunc Callimachum emitto, VIR ILLUSTRIS, eum tu probasti, & inde mihi apud alios etiam probatum iri certa fides est. Sed, quod vel praecipuam laudem mereatur, id adhuc non praestiti; restat enim ut illum tibi offeram."
