Map of the Greek island Corfu with place names in Italian. Sea monsters and a ship with oars and one mast in the water. Eight-pointed compass rose. Italian text from book of origin on verso. From "L'Isole più famose del mondo" (The most famous islands in the world), written by Thomaso Porcacchi da Castiglione (Italian, 1530-1585) and with engravings by Girolamo Porro. Published 1576 in Venice by Simon Calignani and Porro. Printed by Giorgio Angelieri. Dedicated to the aristocrat and doctor Georgio Triultio.
