Edgerton on a ladder, assisted by Ed Jaeckel, as he works to re-orient a malfunctioning transponder for the Del Norte naviagtion system at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The image was taken in August 1973 and published in a 1975 National Geographic magazine article about the USS MONITOR project. (CC)
