Department of Chemistry and Department of Earth and Planetary Science: Research Assistant in the Planetary Astronomy Laboratory 1970-1974; In 1973, with Thomas B.McCord, Head of the Planetary Astronomy Laboratory and Stephen T. Ridgeway of SUNY, Stony Brook, identified the presence of water-ice on two of the four large moons of the planet Jupiter.
