Dark Over Light (Eclipse)
Named collection: Holography Collection
Object type: hologram
Maker: Stephens, Anait
Date made: 1977
Materials: reflection hologram; glass
Measurements: 14 in x 11 in
Nomenclature: fine art
Hologram portraying an eclipse; in background is a large green circle; floating above that circle is a larger dark circle, which seems to break the image plane; creator's name and date appear at bottom right; emulsion appears as though it has `shrunk,' in that the right and left sides of the glass work are clear with no emulsion; unknown whether this was intentional when the work was made, or if it is due to emulsion damage.
Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
