Magazine advertisement for Calan SR hypertension medication, from the Searle & Co. (pharmaceutical company); hot-stamped in the center of the ad is an embossed, rainbow-colored hologram on gold foil; a man's chest and arms are shown with one of 2 possible views, depending on the angle of light: either the heart and lungs, or the major blood vessels in the chest and arms; impressive use of multiple-exposures in a mass-produced commercial hologram.

Many commercial companies experimented with holograms for promoting their products and services. Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
