Three sheets of film adhered together with clear tape to form one continuous image of flickering birthday candles suspended in air [MOH-1993.47.278.01]. Hologram was a collaboratve piece with Neil Lubetsky. MOH-1993.47.278.02 is a model of a white decorated birthday cake, made from composite materials. When the cake is placed in the center, the candles from the hologram appear to be flickering on the top of the birthday cake.

Cake was created and decorated by artist, Pat Lasch. Please note that due to the unique challenges of holography as a medium, high-resolution digital images are not available for most items in the holography collection. Please contact us for more information on reproducing images of holograms.
